Mayfly
A mayfly is a relative of the damselfly and dragonfly with a very short life cycle. Its adult form lives only a single day. Its larva lives in silt and in thick underwater vegetation. Its color is whitish, there are three projections on its abdomen and two antennae on its head. Roach, perch, gudgeon, chub and bream especially love mayfly. Mayfly larvae are harvested with an iron scoop equipped with a long handle. The scoop is used for extracting underwater ground and silt, from which larvae are then picked. Live larvae are stored in a jar with water or in moist cloth.
